Police Officer Dallas Hinton was killed in an automobile crash on U.S. 43 in Clarke County, near mile marker 90, at approximately 4:45 a.m.
Officer Hinton was driving his patrol vehicle north when he collided with the rear end of a tractor-trailer, also traveling north; despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer Hinton was a United States Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Thomasville Police Department for two years. He is survived by his father, two sisters, and his fiancée.
