Police Officer Paramhans Desai

Police Officer Paramhans Desai was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call near the intersection of Keys Ferry Road and Floresta Drive, in McDonough, at about 6:00 pm.

The subject who shot him fled the area and remains at large.

Officer Desai was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds several hours later. He continued to serve after his passing by having multiple organs donated.

Officer Desai had previously served with the DeKalb County Police Department and the Georgia Department of Corrections. He is survived by his wife and two young children.
